At EXPERT® Professional Wood Care, we stand behind our products with a Limited Lifetime Warranty when used as part of the complete EXPERT™ 3-Step System: Clean, Brighten, and Stain & Seal. This warranty covers our qualifying EXPERT™ Stain & Seal products when applied to properly prepared, non-hardwood and non-exotic wood surfaces. When all required steps and conditions are followed, the product is guaranteed not to peel, crack, or chip due to normal weathering or exposure—for the life of the wood structure.

To qualify, the EXPERT™ 3-Step System must be used in its entirety:

Step 1: Clean – Surface must be cleaned using EXPERT™ Clean & Bright Step 1 Product.

Step 2: Brighten – When needed, brighten and neutralize with EXPERT™ Clean & Bright Brightener.

Step 3: Stain & Seal – Apply a qualifying EXPERT™ Stain & Seal product according to all label directions.

Eligibility and Registration

This warranty applies only when the full system is used on a new structure and all manufacturer guidelines are followed. The product must be registered within 14 business days of application. The warranty is available to the original property owner and is transferable to subsequent owners if all requirements are maintained and a transfer notice is submitted within 30 days of the sale.

Proper Application and Product Use 

To maintain warranty coverage, label instructions must be strictly followed. The surface must be clean, dry, and have a wood moisture content of 13% or less. The product must be applied when temperatures are above 32°F (0°C), with no rain for 24 hours before or after. All EXPERT™ products must be stored in a climate-controlled environment and used within their labeled shelf life.

Ongoing Maintenance Requirements 

Routine maintenance is essential. Surfaces must be cleaned every 12 months with EXPERT™ Clean & Bright Eco Cleaner. Horizontal surfaces must be re-stained every 24 months. Vertical surfaces must be re-stained every 24 months for transparent stains and every 36 months for semi-transparent or semi-solid stains. All exposed wood ends must be coated.

Warranty Exclusions 

This warranty excludes clear sealants, previously stained or coated surfaces, exotic or hardwood species, and surfaces not properly prepared. It also excludes damage from sap, leaf tannins, bird droppings, and other natural debris. Warping, cupping, shrinkage, and damage due to environmental events like storms or fire are not covered. Some fading is expected and not considered a defect. Likewise, extractive bleed, mildew, and color variation are natural and not covered.

Making a Warranty Claim 

If a covered product fails due to a manufacturing defect under normal use, EXPERT™ Professional Wood Care will, at its option, replace the product or refund the purchase price. Labor and associated costs are not included.

To file a claim, the owner must have a valid EXPERT™ Warranty Certificate. Claims must be submitted within 30 days of discovering the issue, or no more than 6 months from when the issue first appeared. Claims will be responded to within 30 days, and EXPERT™ Professional Wood Care reserves the right to inspect and test the affected surface before confirming eligibility.

No agent or reseller is authorized to modify this warranty. It is governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee and may provide you with rights that vary by state. Registration is required within 14 business days of product application.
